Slovakia: Day of school libraries and our stories in a Multimedia´s reading book

We realised project teaching on the day of school libraries. Students created a tool for teaching for children from Slovakia. And what was our project´s day?
Pupils first created stories and read them to classmates. Later their texts wrote in Microsoft Word on a computer. Then they draw illustrations in program Paint. Later each student recorded the audio recording of his story in program Audacity. Finally, each pupil put your new story, picture and sound records of the stories to a reading book. Every year the members of Librarian Club and some other pupils visit the biggest Book Fair in Ljubljana. We always have a nice time, meet some writers, ilustrators, known children's characters... We take notes of new books and buy some, because they have a fair discount.

Today is World Hello Day!

Every year, November 21 is World Hello Day. The objective of World Hello Day is to promote world peace. The theme of this day is "Greet ten people for peace". It is really easy to participate in World Hello Day.

Simply, say hello to the people today. Get out on the streets today, and say "Hello" to at least ten people.

The October eTwinning Weeks - our notice board

In school we created notice board with pupils. On the notice board we presented our eTwinning and our activities from The October eTwinning Weeks.

The October eTwinning Weeks - Memory game creation flags of the European Union

We tried to do Memory game (pexeso) on informatics lesson on Friday. We already know the flag of the European Union. So it wasn´t problem to make it for us. We ware working in program Microsoft Word. Pupils produced a table, they opened the internet and they put pictures of flags to the table. They wrote the name of the country under each flag. We printed Memory games and we gave them to our classmates in school on Monday.Some children played the game immediately. We are satisfied - we created a useful tool for teaching.

October weeks of eTwinning - the quiz for students from our school

On Thursday we continued in October weeks of eTwinning in our school of preparing of quiz for students from our school. We decided that our flower´s petals will be for a teaching for students from other classes. We distributed them to students in 2.A class. They read them on the Reading lesson. We were preparing questions for the quiz in our class. Each pupil prepared two questions. On Friday we verified knowledge our students by quiz. Pupils of 2.A class were divided into two teams. Each group choose a name for their team - we were asking Ladybirds and Moles. We took them prepared questions, we wrote down some points and we rewarded diligent students by bags and balloons. We realized, that our "flower´s activity" helped many students in our school to get some knowledge.

October weeks of eTwinning - activity Flower of the European Union

The next day in the October weeks of etwinning we realised a very nice activity which we called the Etwinning´s flower of the European Union.
On Wednesday, we all met in the 4. B class and the children began to present their "flowers petals” - everybody had one state of the European Union. In the middle of the flower was logo of etwinning. Finally we checked pupils knowledge with control questions. Pupils were awarded with T-shirts and bags.

Pupils of 4.B and 4.D class with their teachers worked on "composition" of flower ... so they were looking for and writting all possible information about the countries of the European Union. All new knowledge with the drawn flag they put into flower´s petals.

October weeks of etwinning – library visit

We continue with eTwinning spirit in school :-) We visited our library in Humenné. We wanted to show, that book is unreplaceable for us in world of computers. We can touch it, flick it, have a good time with it. We looked for EU countries today. We were finding information and writing annotations. We liked records of each country.

October weeks of etwinning – countries of EU

In October weeks of etwinning we realized one of the activities with pupils, which we wanted to realize in this week. In geography lesson we were talking about EU countries. We found them on the internet and we learnt basic information about them. We were talking about additions of our membership in EU. We were finding details about some countries of EU on informatics lesson today. We inscribed these details.

Autumn walk

A few days ago we were on a walk. Our goal was to capture the beauty of autumn. The resulting stunning photographs. See for yourself.

We spent Halloween in our class.

We began by welcoming the parents. Pupils introduced to parents through presentations celebration of Halloween and on the interactive whiteboard we solved some Halloween´s exercises of Math and Slovak language.

Then we started decorating of pumpkins. With the help of parents we did really beautiful pumpkins!
